Final Run Tips and Strategies

Practical helicopter control, positioning, focus, and practice advice for improving your Final Run score.

Last updated: September 2026

Feather the controls

Use brief, rhythmic presses rather than holding thrust for a long time. Feathering limits vertical momentum and makes it easier to pass narrow openings. Learn how much the helicopter continues moving after you release, because each correction has a delayed effect.

Protect your options

The center of the open cave is usually the safest neutral position. Flying too close to the roof or floor removes one escape direction. After an obstacle, guide the helicopter back toward the middle unless the next opening clearly requires another line.

Look ahead

Direct your attention toward the next opening, not only the helicopter. Early recognition lets you make small adjustments instead of a late, aggressive correction. On mobile, landscape orientation gives you the clearest view of approaching terrain.

Practice deliberately

Set a reachable target above your current best and focus on one skill per session. Review why each run ended: late input, overcorrection, poor positioning, or distraction. Short focused sessions are more useful than continuing when your timing becomes inconsistent.

Stay composed

High scores can create pressure. Ignore the ranking during the run and solve one opening at a time. Keep your hand relaxed and your inputs deliberate. Consistent decisions matter more than a single risky maneuver.
